Rochester Regional Health announced a $5 million gift from the Riedman Foundation to support an estimated $26 million facility designed to make healthcare more accessible to patients. The new state-of-the-art Riedman Health Center will be located in the Ridge-Goodman Plaza in Irondequoit as a destination for primary care, pediatrics, dental, behavioral health and more. Physical therapy and a blood draw station will also be part of the center.

By moving key outpatient services from Rochester General Hospital to the Riedman Health Center, patients will benefit from new and more comfortable facilities, updated equipment, emerging technology and a more convenient location. The project will also create additional space for future improvements at Rochester General Hospital.

“We are grateful to John Riedman and his family for the generous donation that helps make this project a reality. The location of this center is vital to the community because of its proximity to the hospital, ample parking and easy access to public bus lines. This is a game changer for patients,” said Rochester Regional Health President and Chief Executive Officer Eric Bieber, MD. 

In January, Rochester Regional Health purchased the 12-acre plaza at the corner of East Ridge Road and Goodman Street in Irondequoit at the former Tops location. The Riedman Health Center renovation project aims to be a LEED Silver certified facility. The new center is expected to open in September of 2017.
